Doctoral student Justin Williams won the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award at WNAR Conference held on June 2019 in Portland, Oregon.

Emilie Campos selected as one of the winners of the Student Poster Award at the 2019 Statistical Methods in Imaging Conference

Master student in the Department of Biostatistics Emilie Campos, was selected as one of the four winners of the Student Poster Award at the 2019 Statistical Methods in Imaging Conference at the University of California, Irvine. Her poster presentation was on a novel approach to event-related potential (ERP) analysis using a combination of principal component analysis and independent component analysis.

Catherine Crespi - Selected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA)

Dr. Catherine (Kate) Crespi has been selected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA). Dr. Crespi will be recognized for this great honor on July 30, 2019 at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Denver, Colorado.

Professor Sudipto Banerjee has been awarded the 2019 George W. Snedecor Award

Professor Sudipto Banerjee has been awarded the 2019 George W.Snedecor Award from the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies (COPSS). This award, established in 1976, honors an individual who was instrumental in the development of statistical theory in biometry. The award is for a noteworthy publication in biometry within three years of the date of the award. The award, given biennially (odd years) since 1991, is presented at the Joint Statistical Meetings.

Thomas R. Belin, professor in the Department of Biostatistics, has been conferred the honor of delivering the Lowell Reed Lectureship from the Applied Public Health Statistics Section of the APHA. This lectureship recognizes Professor Belin's distinguished contributions to the field of biostatistics.

Professors Sudipto Banerjee and Marc Suchard elected to the fellowship of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA)

Professors Sudipto Banerjee and Marc Suchard have been elected to the fellowship of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA). These fellowships were formally conferred at the ISBA World Meeting in Edinburugh, Scotland, on June 29th. 2018.
